Data Deletion Instructions

Delete your account in the app

1. Open NewsFlash! and go to Profile.
2. Open the Account section.
3. Select Delete account.
4. Review the warning and select Delete permanently.

The app removes the Firebase Authentication account and associated bookmarks, votes, reactions, tracked stories, notification tokens, chat records, feedback, reports, block lists, public profile, and rate-limit records. Previously posted comments are anonymized and marked deleted so replies and moderation history remain coherent without retaining your account identity.

Request assistance

If you cannot access the app, email kayoe.ktb@gmail.com and include:

• Subject: "Data Deletion Request - NewsFlash!"
• Your account email
• The sign-in method you used (Google or Apple)

We will verify your request and delete associated data within 30 days.

Guest accounts can also use the in-app Delete account action. Uninstalling the app removes local data from the device but does not replace account deletion.

Automatic Expiry

Some data expires automatically:

• Chat rate-limit logs expire within a few hours.
• Chat feedback metadata expires within 30 days.
• Articles are cleaned up after 30 days.
